"We feel that construction and infrastructure sector is growing in leaps and bounds but builders are hesitant to offer suitable gloves for their workers as they want to save the money. The gloves are not used for only work safety but for working efficiency, productivity and quality and also to provide work safety. The cost will be hardly less than 1% of cost of the project. Could you tell us about your company, mission and objectives?
Marvel Gloves Industries was established in 1980 with the objective to promote and provide the personal protection equipment for industrial and construction workers. Hand is vital part of human body which remains active in most of the industrial and construction operations. Hand injuries are often caused due to negligence. During early eighties in India, factories did not care about the safety of workers. Only few major Industries provided Personal Protective Gloves like Safety Leather, Canvas, Asbestos, Hosiery, Surgical and Rubber Gloves. After our visits to factories in Japan, Korea, European Countries, It was observed that they take adequate safety measures and provide gloves to workers suitable to their work and applications, Marvel mission is to promote the safety of hands while working.

It is estimated that unsafe work conditions is one of the leading causes of death and disability among workers in India. These deaths and accidents can be avoided by offering the worker suitable safety Gloves and personal protective equipment (PPE) and gear. According to ILO estimates, due to work related problems 4,03,000 people in India died in year 2011. The mortality rate would be too high if unreported accidents in workplace are also accounted. As more and more Industries have started providing PPEs to workers, The death and disability due to work accidents will be lower by 2020. Safety awareness amongst workers will also help in reducing accidents while working.

How was the CY2013 in terms of business generated both domestic and international?
CY2013 was better in terms of business generated compared to previous year in the domestic market specially from segments like Automobile, Construction, Municipal Corporation, Metro Rail, Airports, Glass Industries, etc. Despite heavy fall of Indian Rupee against major international currencies, export business was lower than CY2012 as other countries like China, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia were much cheaper than India. Our projection for Year 2014 in terms of business generation will be better as the cost of production and prices of raw materials in other countries like China, Indonesia, Pakistan,Srilanka has gone up. Weak Rupee, export incentives by Govt. of India, lower raw materials prices will boost our exports during CY2014.
