Road Ministry Releases Rs 780 Crore For J&K

The Ministry of Roads and Surface Transport has approved 25 road projects at a cost of Rs 780 crore in the state of Jammu and Kashmir Government. The projects are sanctioned in all the three regions of the state. The project includes Khanabal-Pahalgam road, Bjibehara-Shopian road costing Rs 48 crore each and Beerwah-Budgam road estimated to cost Rs 32 crore. The sanctioned project also includes construction of a bridge with a 2-km length worth Rs 206 crore over river Chenab at Indri Pattan in Akhnoor tehsil. The amount has been released from the grants marked for current financial year of 2015-16 under the Central Road Fund (CRF) and more grants would pour in during the next financial year of 2016-17.
