CST-Panvel high-speed corridor

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) plans to build CST-Panvel high-speed corridor covering 47-km route and 11 stations. The project is estimated to cost Rs 15,000 crore. The Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has recently given in-principle approval for this project on its land and have asked the railways to build additional stations for people visiting the proposed promenade and the entertainment zone. The detailed project report on the new alignment is being prepared. The initial phase is likely to complete by 2019.
