JK Lakshmi gets environmental clearance for limestone mine production expansion

JK Lakshmi Cement plans to expand the limestone mine production from 8 Mta to 13 Mta. The mine is located at Sirohi in the state of Rajasthan. The investment involved is to the tune of INR 1.20 billion. The mined limestone would be transported to crushers within the lease area and transported to the Cement plant via cover conveyor belt, requiring no local transport infrastructure. Water would be sourced from West Banas dam. The Environment Ministry has given go ahead to this project. Necessary permission from the Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) is pending.
