Skill development for smart grid infrastructure
The Government of India is keen to build a smart grid across the country. This would help reduce power transmission and distribution losses. The need of the hour is to have trained and skilled workforce to achieve the National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM). Training programmes are initiated with the help of USAID towards building the capacity and skills of utility personnel to develop India’s Smart Grid infrastructure. This training will help the Government of India achieve its target of having 10 percent of personnel from 14 of India’s state utilities trained in Smart Grid functions.
