GMR Infrastructure, Tata Realty & Infrastructure, Hiranandani Group and GVK Power & Infrastructure-led Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) are the firms shortlisted for building the Navi Mumbai Airport. These firms were supposed to submit the final bid by January 9, 2016. As per media reports except GVK the other three firms have decided to pull out of this bidding process citing various reasons like incomplete rehabilitation of the families from the area, no pre-development activity like ground leveling, cost escalation, inadequacy of the completion period of 42 months. Letters have reached City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO), the nodal agency to execute this project. CIDCO is yet to examine the letters and comment on the recent development.
