IndiGo to buy 50 smaller aircraft
IndiGo, the country’s largest airline by market share plans to add 50 turboprop aircraft for regional operations that would be run by a separate division. The airlines expect to increase business by aligning its activity with Government of India’s ‘Udan’. As per the scheme, the government would provide a subsidy to compensate for any operational loss due to fare cap.
