A.P. government demands development of Warangal airport
The development of the airport at Mamnoor in Warangal is sought by the State government. The matter is taken up with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry. A memorandum of understanding was actually signed between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Airports Authority of India in March 2007. The MoU envisaged construction of the airport at Mamnoor to handle TR-42 and ATR-72 type of aircraft and future upgradation for operation of bigger type of aircraft. The Airports Authority of India will bear the entire project cost.
