Orvakal airport development

The Goverment of Andhra Pradesh is taking steps towards Orvakal airport development in the Rayalaseema region. The government has already given administrative sanction for Orvakal Airport works worth Rs 88.5 crore under packages 1 and 2 under public private partnership (PPP) model. The airport works commenced in June, 2017 and completion is targeted in nine months. Bhogapuram International Airport Corporation Ltd (BIACL) is the project proponent. KCVR Infra Projects Pvt Ltd expressed interest for the package-I works to be executed at a cost of Rs 52.35 crore at 4.59% less than the estimated cost. Standard Infratech India Pvt Ltd submitted bid at 2.16% less than the estimated contract value of Rs 23.06 crore for package-2 works which was approved by the BIACL Board.
