New terminal buildings coming up at five locations

India is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world. During April-October 2017 period, total number of passengers handled rose to 171 million compared to 149 million in the previous year. The passenger traffic forecast for 2018-19 is about 322 million. Airports Authority of India (AAI) is gearing up to undertake construction of new terminal buildings at 14 aerodromes in the current year. AAI is looking at exploring more avenues to increase its revenues from various sources and is seeking the services of a strategic consultant. New airport terminal buildings are likely to come up at Jharsuguda in Odisha, Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Calicut in Kerala and Pakyong (Sikkim).
