Vice President flags off inland waterway project between Muktyala and Vijayawada
Under Sagarmala Programme, the Government of India has identified 415 projects at an estimated investment of approximately Rs.8 Lac Crore. The projects identified are across port modernization, new port development, port connectivity enhancement, port-linked industrialization and coastal community development. These projects would be implemented in number of phases between 2015 to 2035. As part of the Sagar Mala project, the National Waterway-4 covering 82-km between Muktyala and Vijayawada is planned. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu recently laid the foundation stone for the development of an inland waterway in the Krishna river between Muktyala and Vijayawada.
