The Cachar district administration has signed an MoU worth Rs 1.7 crore with the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for providing advanced life-support ambulance, ICU equipment and vehicles for blood bank for Silchar under its corporate social responsibility.

National Highway & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) is implementing the road improvement project of NH 27 (old NH-54) connecting Dima Hasao and Cachar districts aggregating to about 130 km is in progress as part of East West Corridor.
