State-run power giant NTPC has inked a pact with Gujarat Gas for an initiative to blend green hydrogen with the piped natural gas (PNG) supplied by the latter.

Adani Group and Ballard Power Systems have joined hands to evaluate a joint investment in hydrogen fuel cells manufacturing in India.

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors has bagged a contract for 65 electric vehicles (EVs) from Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The order includes 60 Tigor EVs and 5 Nexon EV SUVs. The state-owned power generation utility Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has taken up installation of pilot 35-megawatt solar PV project with 57 MWH Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its Kutch lignite thermal power station. The project to be executed with the support of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and Energy and Petrochemicals department, Gujarat, will cost Rs 334.54 crore.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on power generation and purchase from the proposed hybrid solar power plant at Balasaheb Thackeray Middle Vaitarna Dam, which will generate electricity of 100 MW.

In order to improve the power distribution system in the urban and rural areas, the Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has spent Rs 69 crore in the current financial year. A new line of 502 km has been installed. Along with this, the capacity of distribution transformers has been increased at 383 places so that the consumers do not face the problem of tripping and voltage fluctuations.

A Rs 63 crore project is being planned to provide uninterrupted power supply to the town as the outdated system is leading to regular power cuts. The power board has also proposed to convert all overhead lines into underground supply system in the town.

Adani Enterprises Ltd has won a contract to supply overseas coal to India’s top electricity generator as the nation aims to avoid a repeat of last year’s energy crisis, according to people familiar with the matter.
