Wonderla Holidays is planning to spend Rs. 500 crore, including Rs. 300 crore on its Chennai theme park and the rest is on other projects. The theme park will be as big as the existing Wonderla Holidays parks in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kochi, where the capacity is around 10,000. The company is also looking at new projects in Odisha and Gujarat.

Plans to set up an amusement park in Chennai and is waiting for final approval from the Department of Town & Country Planning to commence the project for which it had made investments of Rs. 109 crore till March. After the clearance is received the company will take a decision on the commencement of construction.

Kochi based company plans to build Chennai theme park by 2018. The work is likely to start soon.

Kochi based company is all set to open its Hyderabad amusement park spread over 50 acre shortly.

The Centre is likely to utilise land owned by lighthouses in the country for commercial development. Land of about 50 lighthouses will be leased to private developers for 25-30 years through competitive bidding in Phase-I for commercial development.
