Dec 05, 2020 NTPC signs MoU with Power Ministry detailing targets for FY 2020-21 Thermal power producer NTPC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Power, setting key targets for the year 2020-21. Key targets include 340 BU of electricity generation, 15 MMT of coal production, Rs. 21,000 crore capital expenditure and Rs. 98,000 crores of revenue from operations.
Dec 05, 2020 800 MW coal-based supercritical thermal GSECL has received environmental clearance from the Environment Ministry to establish an 800 MW coal-based supercritical thermal power plant in Gujarat. The project will come up within the premises of the Ukai Thermal Power Plant at Vagds village in Tapi district. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5,113 crore.
Nov 20, 2020 Solar floating panels at the Idukki reservoir KSEB is setting up solar floating panels at the Idukki reservoir to produce 125 MW f power. The panels will be placed in Anchuruli and Cheruthoni areas. In Phase-I, 100 MW solar panels will be installed at Anchuruli area and 25 MW at Cheruthoni area of the reservoir. KSEB requires forest clearance for the project, planned to begin in December.

Nov 05, 2020 Keralas second EV Charging Station KSEB is setting up another public electric vehicle charging station on its office premises at Palarivattom. The station will have two charging kiosks. Work is progressing well and in all likelihood. They will also be installing a software for the billing. The EV station will have a separate entrance, opposite to the Palarivattom Metro station.

The scope of work involves the design, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the project with the evacuation of power into the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation’s substation.
Oct 20, 2020 Gujarat’s Blueprint to Establish Tariffs for Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has invited comments from stakeholders on its discussion paper to start a regulatory process for determining tariffs for wind-solar hybrid projects. The GERC noted that the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) had discovered tariffs in some states substantially lower than the generic tariff it had decided.

The Kerala State Electricity Board envisages 250 EV charging stations across the state. The project is being implemented using government funds. Work is progressing in Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts.
