The Andhra Pradesh government will install as many as 18 lakh smart meters on farm electric motors within a year, including spending ?4,000 core to procure allied material. The state will follow the guidelines issued by the Central Government and Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

The central government is spending around Rs 2,500 crore on various drinking water supply schemes in the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and North Dinajpur and plans to provide water connections to around 8.72 lakh households.

The central government is gearing up to start work on four greenfield expressways worth Rs 1 lakh crore, in the state of West Bengal. The projects have been designed to decongest the state capital, Kolkata and improve the logistics efficiency of the state.

The Ministry of Steel has permitted Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd to import 5,000 tonnes of steel products for the Kolkata Metro rail project. The central government in 2017 instituted a policy favouring domestically-manufactured iron and steel products, but has granted exemption for the metro project.

The Central government, the government of Nagaland and the World Bank have signed a $68 million project to enhance the governance of schools across Nagaland as well as to improve teaching practices and learning environments in select schools, in a project known as the Nagaland: Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources Project.

The old central government-run ports are set to bring greater efficiency in cargo handling by roping in private companies. The 12 major ports will move to management by a private partner . The government has identified seven projects worth at least Rs 2,000 crore that will be offered on public-private partnership mode in the financial year 2021-2022.
