Public Works Department, Maharashtra has invited bids for construction of medical college and hospital in Satara. The scope of work includes construction of 100 students capacity medical college and 500 beded hospital building and related works including electrical works in Satara. The estimated value of the project is Rs 403.95 crore with a completion period of 24 months.

Maharashtra government sanctioned a whopping amount of Rs 306.065 crore for resolving the drinking water woes of this district. The water grid work would begin soon. The drinking water problem of the people of 178 villages of Paithan and Aurangabad Talukas will be solved permanently.

The state government plans to set up jewellery and knowledge smart city to promote the growth of gems and jewellery sector. MIDC will be directed to provide land for the same. The smart city will also house training centre, research centre, exhibition and convention centre, residences, hostel, schools and hospitals.
