Dec 20, 2020 Solar Power Plants at Airports AAI has signed a memorandum of understanding with a subsidiary of the National Thermal Power Corp to set up solar power plants at its airports to encourage electric vehicles. For this, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) will be provided adequate land and rooftop space free of cost at identified AAI airports.
Dec 05, 2020 New Integrated terminal at Pune The new integrated terminal building being constructed at Pune airport in Maharashtra by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) with an investment of Rs. 475 crore is expected to be completed by March 2022. The new terminal will be able to process 2,300 passengers (1,700 domestic and 600 international) during peak hours.
Nov 20, 2020 Aviation Ministry okays 78 new routes under UDAN 4.0 Phase 1 The Ministry of Civil Aviation has identified and approved 78 new routes under the first phase of Ude Deshka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) 4.0. Seventy-eight new routes have been approved and the Airports Authority of India, the implementing agency, is in the process of awarding them to selected airline operators (SAOs).

The Airports Authority of India had planned to construct a 2,050-metre runway, but following expert advice, it is being extended to 3,200 metres to accommodate wide bodied aircraft.

Nov 05, 2020 Rs. 50 Cr Invested in Jalgaon Airport AAI has invested over Rs 50 crore in a phased manner to create aviation infrastructure in Jalgaon, which has the second biggest airport in North Maharashtra after Nashik. The AAI has provided Jalgaon airport with crash firefighting equipment imported from Austria and two new baggage X-Ray scanning machines.
