Plans upgradation of existing facilities and creation of new infrastructure for handling of iron ore. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the project recently.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the implementation of the four/two laning of Baharagora-Sambalpur section of NH-6 in Orissa and Jharkhand under NHDP Phase IV on DBFOT/BOT basis. The total length of the road will be 368.20 km

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of National Highways (NHs). The FY2011-12 has been an outstanding year for the Indian Road Sector. A record length of 7957 km of road project was awarded for strengthening/ up gradation and improvement. During the same period, over 2200 km of road development were completed.
