With Visakhapatnam set to become the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh, the city seems to be growing. Realtors are busy building affordable housing on the city outskirts, expecting to attract the middle-income segment, as flats in Vizag city are steadily becoming costlier. Over 10,000 units are coming up on the city’s outskirts.

The SWAMIH Fund of SBICAP Ventures has said it is working on funding 11 projects in Bengaluru to ensure that home buyers are not affected by delays in the housing projects. Mantri Serenity on Kanakapura Road is the first project to receive SWAMIH funding, enabling completion in 12-18 months.

The finance ministry on Friday said as many as 101 stressed housing projects have been sanctioned Rs. 10,300 crore for completing their projects under the Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing (SWAMIH) scheme. This will enable completion of 71,559 dwelling units across various parts of the country.
