KPT Port Trust has entered into an agreement with the Mumbai-based Hiranandani Group to build a jetty-based liquefied natural gas terminal at east Midnapur for storage and re-gasification of LNG with a maximum capacity of 5 MMTPA. The project entails an investment of around Rs. 3,900 crore and has an economic value of about Rs. 6,000 crore.

Phoenix Mills wholly-owned subsidiary Mindstone Mall Developers has acquired approximately 7.48 acres of land in Kolkata for Rs. 300 crore. The land parcel, strategically located on Diamond Harbour Road in Alipore, Kolkata, has development potential of approximately 1 million sq ft .

The foundation stone has been laid to set up a purified drinking water supply project at Akra brickfield land at Natun Pool. Around 10 lakh people living in Maheshtala, Budge Budge and Pujali areas will benefit from the Rs. 399-crore project. Underground tanks will also be set up at Maheshtala and Budge Budge.

The logistics hub built by KMDA over three acres beside the Garden Reach water works plant is to be inaugurated soon. It will accommodate and benefit thousands of micro- and small-scale industry manufacturers involved in sectors like garments, food processing, electronic goods and other non-polluting units.

Birla Corp is looking to increase its 15.5 million-tonne capacity to 21 million tonnes in two phases over the next two years. In the first phase capacity will be increased to 20.5 MT, which will happen by the first quarter of the next financial year. By 2025, the firm expects to take its capacity to 25 million tonnes.

Realty developer Ambuja Neotia Group has entered into an agreement with Satyaa Homes to jointly develop a 72-acre land parcel in Kolkatas Rajarhat. The project will see an integrated township with villas, apartments and large plotted development, with a total development potential of around 8 million sq ft.

The world’s largest floating solar energy plant is to be constructed on the Omkareshwar Dam reservoir on the Narmada river in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The estimated investment in this project is Rs. 3,000 crore. The International Finance Corporation, World Bank and Power Grid Corp have granted in-principle consent for providing aid.
