The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched an ambitious project targeted to revolutionise the food processing sector and transform the lives of farmers in the UT. The "UT Level Food Processing Programme for Development of Clusters for Specific Products of J&K" is a Rs 879.75 crore initiative that aims to maximise farmer income and minimise post-harvest losses.

In a bid to create new employment opportunities, the Arvind Kejriwal Government has decided to redevelop 27 notified industrial areas in the national Capital.

Seven mega industrial estates will come up under the entire textile value chain, touted as Textile Park, at the cost of Rs 4,445 crore, in the district.

To tackle the water crisis in slum clusters in the national capital, the Delhi government will soon install at least 1,000 water ATMs. These water devices will be installed by the Delhi Jal Board and will be operational by August this year.

Small Industries Development Bank of India has provided the approval for Rs 600 crore to the Maharashtra government under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund.

The Karnataka government has approved 48 industrial projects worth Rs 2,062 crore that would provide jobs for over 6,393 people in the state. The clearance for the projects was given at the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) meeting chaired by Large and Medium Scale Industries Minister.

The Odisha government has approved four new infrastructural development projects worth around Rs. 5,192 crore for industrial estates in the state. The projects include proposals for external water supply to industrial estates at Balasore to be deloped at a cost of Rs. 2,745 crore and a wide approach road for heavy vehicles and containers to the sea food park at Deras.

At a government function to inaugurate projects worth Rs. 587 crore in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin said the state should become the industrial face of India, and to this end, a host of memorandums would be signed at an industrial conference scheduled soon. He added that such conferences would be held regularly.

More than 600 steel furniture units in Ernakulam will get a common facility close to Perumbavoor, which will enable the units to produce quality steel furniture with world-class finish. The Kalady Steel Consortium said work on the common facility had begun and the automated machines there would bring about a major transformation.
