Goa has inaugurated its first convergence project, which will integrate decentralised renewable energy with energy-efficient water pumps and LED lamps for rural homes. The 100 MW project will be implemented by a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd on unused or degraded land. The firm will also deliver the pumps and lights.

The joint venture of PSUs of Ministry of Power, has issued a tender for the procurement of 272,579 solar water pumps. The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar water pumping systems.

The project is coming up at Ghodbunder Road, Thane spread over 1.50 acre of land. It comprises 2 towers of stilt + 14 and stilt + 16 floors each, having 256 units
