SSEL-ASR JV got an order for 100 MW capacity with total contract price of Rs 577.21 crore in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The completion period is 18 months.

State-owned NHPC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the district administration of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh for development of green hydrogen technologies to produce hydrogen. As per the MoU, NHPC shall develop a pilot green hydrogen mobility project including hydrogen production. NHPC shall upscale hydrogen production on a commercial scale to supply the hydrogen needs...for sectors like mobility, transportation, heating, micro grid," NHPC said in a statement. This project will be executed by NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NHPC. Besides, the research and development department of NHPC and Chamera-II Power Station of NHPC will be part of the project. "Under the project, a 300 kilowatt solar plant will be set up and its energy will be utilised for electrolysis of water to generate green hydrogen. Further hydrogen will be stored in cylinders in compressed form which will be used to run vehicles.

State-run NHPC has signed a letter of intent (LoI) to build renewable energy projects of 10,000 MW in Rajasthan. A Letter of Intent (LoI) has been signed between NHPC Limited and Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) at Jaipur for development of 10,000 MW Renewable Energy Projects/ Parks in Rajasthan in the august presence of Chief Minister.

State-owned hydropower giant NHPC has signed a pact with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha to set up 500 MW floating solar power projects in Odisha. The joint venture will set up 300 MW floating solar projects, which would generate 600 million units per annum.

Three oxygen generation plants installed by NHPC, India’s state-owned hydropower company, were inaugurated today at District Civil Hospital (B K Hospital), Faridabad. Haryana, District Hospital, Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, and CHC, Dharchula, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, with capacities of 1,000 litres per minute, 570 LPM and 200 LPM respectively.

The National Hydropower Corp has invited bids for engineering, procurement, and construction of a 500 MW solar power project connected with the interstate transmission system in Tamil Nadu, including operation and maintenance for 10 years.

NHPC Ltd has indigenously renovated and modernised its 180 MW Baira Siul Power Station in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, and commenced commercial operations. Baira Siul was NHPC’s first power station and was under operation since 1982. Having completed its useful life, it has now been renewed.

The hydropower generator has invited bids for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 100 MW floating solar power project and the associated 220 kV transmission line for connectivity to the 400 kV substation at the Rengali reservoir in Odisha. The last date to submit bids online is October 7.

As part of the National Monetisation Plan, the government has identified power generation and transmission projects worth Rs. 70,000 crore for monetisation by FY25. This includes Rs. 15,000 crore worth of projects each from NTPC and NHPC each and Rs. 40,000 crore of transmission projects of Power Grid Corp.
