The Jammu and Kashmir government has launched an ambitious project targeted to revolutionise the food processing sector and transform the lives of farmers in the UT. The "UT Level Food Processing Programme for Development of Clusters for Specific Products of J&K" is a Rs 879.75 crore initiative that aims to maximise farmer income and minimise post-harvest losses.

Uttar Pradesh has attracted investment of over Rs 5,000 crore in the food processing sector from various national and international companies. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority has allotted land for projects to companies such as AB Mauri, PepsiCo, ITC Ltd and Coca Cola.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries is implementing Mega Food Park Scheme across the country. The aims is to boost food processing sector by adding value and reducing food wastage.The first Mega Food Park has come up at Village Degaon, District Satara in the state of Maharashtra.
