The Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) will procure 400 MW low cost wind power through Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) from Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) connected wind power projects in Karnataka and Gujarat from 2024-25 fiscal for 25 years.

The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) has given nod to procurement of 600 MW of solar power from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in Tranche-VIII by the distribution companies (DISCOMS). BERC has allowed the procurement at a tariff of Rs 2.50/kWh. The trading margin has been kept by the regulator at Rs 0.07 for every kWh.

The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has given approvals to three power utility firms in Mumbai for procurement of 959 MW of renewable energy for city consumers. In the first order, it allowed BEST to procure 234 MW solar power from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

SECI has awarded a contract to the Tatas for setting up a 100MW solar project with battery energy storage system (BESS) at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The project will usethe large battery storage system to provide solar power during evening peak hours. The contract has been awarded to Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd.

A solar power plant of 40 MW capacity power will be installed at the Hirakud Dam Reservoir in Odishas Sambalpur district by the Solar Energy Corporation of India, which is under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Floating panels, mounted on a structure that floats on a water body, will be installed to generate power.

The Power Development Department of Ladakh has signed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India for buying 50 megawatts of DC solar power from the 50 MW solar project at Taru area in Leh, with battery storage being developed under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP)-2015.

SECI has for the tenth time extended the bid submission deadline for its tender for a project developer to set up of 15 MW grid-connected floating solar PV power plant at the Nangal Pond in Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh. The project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.

SECI has issued a tender on behalf of the Bharat Coking Coal Ltd to construct a 25 MW solar power project at its Bhojudih Coal Washery in Purulia, West Bengal. The scope of work includes the design, engineering, etc to commissioning, with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the project.

SECI is inviting proposals for setting up ISTS-connected wind power projects in India on a Build Own Operate (BOO) basis for an aggregate capacity of 1200 MW. The nodal agency shall enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders selected based on this RfS for purchase of wind power for a period of 25 years.
