May 05, 2022 20 bids to set up solar power plants Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) had invited expressions of interest from bidders to set up minimum 500KW and maximum 2MW capacity grid-connected ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants on barren or uncultivable land. The plant should be within a 10-km radius of 33KV/11KV electricity department’s network to facilitate easy evacuation of solar power. The state wants to set up solar power plants under Component A of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM-KUSUM). The Union ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) has issued guidelines for setting up decentralised grid-connected ground mounted renewable power plants under Component A of PM-KUSUM. Individual farmers, group of farmers, cooperative societies, panchayats, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO), Water User Associations (WUA) all of whom can be collectively referred to as landowners, can collaborate with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors/system integrators/developers to set up solar power plants on barren or uncultivable land located within 10-km radius of the substations notified by GEDA. Landowners can invest in solar power plants by arranging their own funds, or collaborate with empanelled EPC contractors/system integrators on turnkey basis, operate and maintain the plant during the power purchase agreement (PPA) tenure.
May 05, 2022 Construction of 6-lane bridge at Rawanfond to commence soon The work of constructing the six-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Rawanfond, Margao, will start soon, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat said after holding a review of proposed projects in Margao. The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) had floated tenders for design and construction of the six-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) in May 2021. Kamat said that the tenders will be placed before the GSIDC board for approval, following which the work will commence. The project, estimated to cost Rs 21 cr has to be completed within two years, as per the tender notice. The bridge will be constructed parallel to the one connecting Davorlim to the Quepem road. The work of pathway and approach road to the bridge, estimated to cost Rs 3.5 crore has also been tendered, it was informed. Kamat said that it was imperative to construct a parallel bridge as the existing one was in a precarious state. The bridge was constructed by the Railways nearly 40-50 years ago.
