The foundation stones were recently laid for 11 development projects, including the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor (from Eastern Peripheral Expressway Junction to Dehradun) which will be built at a cost of around Rs. 8,300 crore rupees. It will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Dehradun from six hours to around 2.5 hours.

NHAI is going green by implementing the use of fly-ash i.e. upto 30% of earth filling in the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and using other slag materials elsewhere.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently laid the foundation stone of three national highway projects at Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Kundli-Sonipat in Haryana.

The Centre has approved to take up Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) with cement concrete pavement having a length of 135 km with estimated cost of Rs 5,763.10 crore.

The project comprises Eastern Peripheral Expressway (NH No. NE-II) covering 134.946 km length at a cost of Rs 4,524.00 crore with Rs 1,809.60 crore viability gap funding. The eastern expressway will connect Palwal in Haryana on NH-2 to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on NH-24 and Kundli in Haryana on NH-1. This project aims to decongest Delhi roads. PPPAC recently approved this project.
