Jul 20, 2021 Odisha to recover Rs 1,042 cr. from company for excess iron ore mining Odisha’s Directorate of Mines has served a show-cause notice to Sarada Mines Ltd for recovery of Rs. 1,042 crore in respect of alleged excess iron ore production in Keonjhar district. Following a Supreme Court order, the company was allowed to resume mining operations, but has allegedly exceeded its limits.

The work on three more blocks is expected in the next two years. In March, NTPC was reallotted five coal blocks that were cancelled last year by the Supreme Court.

With this allocation, around 200 million tonne of coal will be added to the captive resources of the company.
