Union home minister Amit Shah launched several projects and laid the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 1,000 crore for the frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh. In the strategically important state bordering China, an MoU was exchanged on building Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) or National Defence University campus in Arunachal.

The Centre has approved 27 road projects worth Rs 553 crore in Arunachal Pradesh. The projects were approved under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), aimed at improving road connectivity in the frontier state, they said, quoting a letter by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju.The projects include the construction of a 14-km road from Boa Sango to Neomi in Kra Daadi district, extension and improvement of a road from Seram to Bijari in East Siang district and construction of a road in Mechuka township in Shi-Yomi district.

Airports Authority of India has undertaken the work of constructing a Greenfield Airport in Hollongi, 15 km from Itanagar considering the importance of air connectivity to the capital city. With an estimated cost of Rs 645 crore, the project includes the development work that is construction of airport pavements, air side work, terminal Building and city side works.
