The state government gave a nod for Swargate to Katraj underground metro route extension and approved a share of Rs 450.95 crore for the project. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had cleared the extension of the underground metro rail route, a distance of 5.4km in September 2021 and sent a proposal for approval to the state government.

The work of right canal road, which is an alternative road to Sinhagad road and is stalled due to lack of funds, has reached the final stage. The municipal administration has allocated Rs 54 crore in the budget to solve the traffic congestion in this area by constructing alternative roads to Sinhagad road.
