The Uttar Pradesh government has given in-principle approval for 17 proposed feeder-bus routes from Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stations in Ghaziabad. Officials of the regional transport department said they will now take up the proposal and start the routes before the 17 km RRTS section becomes operational in March.

With financing concerns having been resolved after loan approval from multilateral institutions in recent months, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, India’s first regional rapid transit system (RRTS), will become operational in 2023, ushering seamless connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Indian Railways (IR) is the largest rail network in Asia and the world’s second largest under one management. Globally, Indian Railways has the fourth largest rail network, after the United States, China and Russia.

The company is implementing the 106-km long Delhi - Gurguram- SNB (Shahjahanpur - Neemrana-Behror Urban Complex) Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project across the NCR region. Around 71-km of the corridor will be elevated, while the remaining 35 km will be underground, mostly in Delhi & Gurugram. The pre-construction activity has commenced with Geotechnical investigation.

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is the implementing agency of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project in Delhi-NCR.

Plans to assign the construction of elevated viaduct from end of Ghaziabad RRTS Station up to EPE crossing of Delhi.

Plans to engage Detailed Design Consultant for the Detailed Design of Track for elevated viaduct, underground sections including all stations and depots for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor.

Plans to assign the construction of elevated viaduct from end of Ghaziabad RRTS Station up to EPE crossing of Delhi.
