The ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) is in discussions with the ministry of petroleum and natural gas (MoPNG) to combine the exploration of offshore hydrocarbon blocks with offshore wind farms for better synergies.

Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has approved the night landing facility at Kalaburagi Airport in Karnataka. The Kalaburagi Airport has a runway of 09-27 (3175m x 45m) and an apron suitable to park 03 aircraft (1 A-320, 02 ATR 72/Q-400).

The airport will consist of four terminals and will have parking for 42 aircraft. There will also be a grand parking lot with a capacity for 5,500 vehicles. The airport will be linked to the 22-km Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL), which will be the key road connector between it and the metropolis.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Civil Aviation Minister, said that India is set to have 200-220 airports, heliports, and water aerodromes in the next two to three years. The minister highlighted that until 2014, only 74 airports were operational in the country.

Somany Max (SMPL) has allotted additional Rs 2 crore 80 lakh cumulative redeemable preference shares of Rs 10 each aggregating to Rs 28 crore to Somany Ceramics by way of right, maintaining the percentage of shareholding of the company in SMPL at 80 per cent.
