When he started his Budget Speech, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said what has been largely expected that the budget will focus on Agriculture and rural economy.

On 14th July, 2015 the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) was launched from Amritsar in Punjab for 12 cities in the country including the Holy city of Amritsar.Government of India has sanctioned Rs 69.31 crore as 100% grant for Amritsar city.
