SHV Energy has expanded its LPG terminal capacity by 30,000 metric tonne in Tamil Nadu at an outlay of about Rs 500 crore. The facility in Tuticorin would be ramped up from 8,500 metric tonne to 38,500 metric tonne, representing an investment of about Rs 500 crore.

A new Direct Port Entry (DPE) facility will now enable direct movement of containers from factories, without intermediate handling at any CFS, thus facilitating the shippers to gate-in their factory stuffed exports directly to the container terminal on 24x7 basis. The facility is created in an area of 18,357 sq m inside the truck parking terminal.

SECI has issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) for 5 MW of grid-connected, ground-mounted solar projects at the V. O. Chidambaranar Port Trust at Tuticorin in the state of Tamil Nadu. Bidders are expected to pay an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs. 4.48 million ($60,289). The last date for the submission of bids is August 21.
