The Centre is likely to utilise land owned by lighthouses in the country for commercial development. Land of about 50 lighthouses will be leased to private developers for 25-30 years through competitive bidding in Phase-I for commercial development.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be developed into the country's first maritime hub at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 crore. The Centre has prepared a blue print of this plan to boost tourism in the Union Territory. A 15-year perspective plan for the development of shipping and port infrastructure on the islands is prepared by the Shipping Ministry.

Wonderla Holidays Ltd plans to set up an amusement park in two phases at an investment Rs 250 crore in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The company has also signed an MoU with the State government in this regard. The amusement park is likely to come up on 50-acre site between Visakhapatnam and Guntur.
