Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is targeting installation of 100 GW solar power. Out of this around 40% is targeted through grid-connected solar power. A subsidy of 30% will be given to all in general categories, who have connected their solar rooftop systems to the grid. Commercial and industrial establishments are not eligible for 30% subsidy as they are getting other benefits like accelerated depreciation, custom duty concessions among others. The subsidy comes under the Central Financial Assistance (CFA) scheme and is part of the 'Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar Power Plants Programme'.
