The Government of Andhra Pradesh has proposed to build about four lakh houses including two lakh houses in urban areas. The state government is about to introduce highly subsidised housing scheme wherein the residential complex will come up on government land in all towns and major villages. The government is likely to spend Rs 5.5 lakh per flat and plans to collect only Rs 3.5 lakh from each of the allottees.
