Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) plans to invest Rs.3,500 crore in a facility to produce Bharat Stage Six compliant auto fuel by 2020. The approval for the project is pending. The technology for the project is identified and would help in producing diesel with sulphur content down from the present 50 to 10 ppm, is being identified. Other clearances are awaited.
