Integrated solar manufacturing in India is likely to take off soon and would produce solar cells, photovoltaic modules, ingots and wafers. To boost solar manufacturing in India, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is likely to come out with a brand new policy to aid equipment makers to disburse Rs 30,000 crore as subsidy. With the increased focus on using renewable sources of energy, the Government of India has already revised its target of National Solar Mission (NSM) from 20 GW to 100 GW by 2022. The Government is likely to invite overseas companies to set up manufacturing units as part of the Make in India initiative.
