4497 new projects have been sanctioned in the country with the project cost of Rs. 42392.47 crore for various rural electrification works under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). This was stated by Piyush Goyal Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha recently.
