Inland Water Authority of India (IWAI) vice-chairman Pravin Pandey has recently informed that the upcoming second multi-modal terminal in National Waterway-I (the river Ganga from Haldia to Allahabad, 1620 km) after Haldia. The terminal is likely to come somewhere at Kalyani or Tribeni or Balagarh, around 50 kilometer north of Kolkata. The terminal would be extension of Kolkata Port.
