The Centre has undertake an extensive analysis of airport traffic across the country. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha has recently said that if the air traffic grows at a historic rate of 10-20 per cent then the traffic handling capacity needs to be doubled over the next 10-15 years. For this the country would require Rs 3 lakh crore of investment. Around 125 airports are currently managed by Airports Authority of India (AAI). *Image used is for illustration only
