Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) is developing the upcoming Shirdi airport spread over 350 hectare at an estimated cost of Rs 365 crore. The project is nearing completion and likely to commence operation by April, 2017. Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, has contributed Rs 45 crore to the total cost. The airport project comprises a 3,000 square metre terminal building, air traffic control (ATC) tower and a 2,400-meter runway. The runways is being further extended to 3200 meter to accomodate international flights.
