The Government of Haryana plans develop Hisar as an aviation hub. The state government has decided to offer additional incentives to airlines and has signed MOU with the centre for starting flights under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). The airport at Hisar will be taken up in number of phases. The upgradation and development of the airport under the RCS is part of phase-I. The existing airstrip will be extended from 4,000 feet to 9,000 feet in the second phase. Also night landing facilities, use of modern navigational aids, MRO and aircraft parking projects will be taken up in the second phase. The final phase would include building an aerotropolis, international airport, aerospace and defence manufacturing facility, commercial and residential real estate development.
