MHADA, a nodal agency for the housing project under PMAY, had identified 14 sites for houses. The state and central level coordination committees had given a clearance for the same. The Maharashtra state government has recently withdrawn clearance to three low-cost housing projects under PMAY as the identified plots were found to be reserved for other purposes. Urban Development (UD) ministry refused to grant permission for change in reservation despite MHADA applying for the same. The three sites include Juchandra village in Vasai taluka of Palghar district, an 11 acre plot at Khalapur in Raigad district and a 4 acre plot in Pen.
