Mumbai airport operator Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) plans to increase the passenger handling capacity to 50-52 million passengers per annum from the current 41.67 million passengers. The passenger traffic at the Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) is growing at 13.7% over the last year. The expansion project is estimated to cost Rs 3500/- crore. The projection for 2015-16 was 35 million passengers per annum, but the actual figure touched 41.67 million passengers.
